About me

I'm Matt Andrasian-Jones and I am a creative and innovative educator who has a background that includes Educational Technology, Illustration, and Graphic Design.  For me, it is hard to separate these interests because to me they are all so intricately interwoven in all I do. I believe in leveraging technology to engage learners. I am also very passionate about the intersection where learning, technology, and art meet.

Education

I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Education in Learning Technologies at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

Experience

I am currently a Faculty member of the Academic Technology Department at Bakersfield College. However, I also have a background as an IT System Support Analyst, a Marketing Manager, a Marketing Coordinator, and a Graphic Designer. Additionally, I have been a freelance graphic artist for the past 15 years.

Personal

I am an avid swimmer and illustrator. Illustration was my first passion and I  spend a great deal of my free time working to further develop my illustration abilities. I was also a competitive swimmer since age 6. In my swimming career, I won an NCAA Division II National Championship Title in the
200 backstroke in 2001. I am also a 9-time All-American.

I am married to my wife of three years. We enjoy hiking, traveling, and going just about any place that is conducive to our two puppies.
